Our association Maritime Hub Hispano Saudí has been present at the World Defense Show 2022 in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia during the month of March 2022.
World Defense Show 2022 has helped us to present our association to the defence and security industry and to continue our journey. It has been a great opportunity to make ourselves known. Moreover, the participation in this event has been a great success for our associated companies.
The meeting was promoted by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) of Saudi Arabia with the aim of showing the latest technological advances in the sector in all its areas.
In this event we had many highlights, such as the participation of our president and CEO of GHENOVA, Francisco Cuervas, in the debate session on the importance of having resilient supply chains in the current environment of defence and security, which is evolving rapidly and dynamically.
On the first day, we had the opportunity to attend the reception at the Residence of the Spanish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the visit of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, María Reyes Maroto Illera.
In addition, during the 4 days of the event, the association has received visits from very important people in the sector. Among those who visited us at our stand were: the Spanish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Jorge Hevia Sierra; Ricardo Domínguez García-Baquero, President of Navantia; the Spanish Navy; Colonel José-María Bonastre Cenarro, Defence Attaché of the Spanish Embassy in Saudi Arabia, Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain; the Director General of Armaments and Material (DIGAM), Admiral Aniceto Rosique Nieto; Abdullah Al-Shabanat, Director of Machinery and Equipment, National Industrial Development Center of Saudi Arabia; Admiral Ali M. Aljuaied, Deputy Military Procurement Advisor of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) of Saudi Arabia.
From our association Maritime Hub Hispano-Saudi we seek to be a useful platform for the establishment of links between Spanish and Saudi companies related to the naval sector, from which may arise the formation of alliances, joint ventures or joint ventures to serve the needs arising in current or future projects in Saudi Arabia and its area of influence, not only in the short term, but also in the medium / long term.
